Decay processes in relaxed triplet states of self-trapped excitons in potassium halides

The temperature dependence of lifetimes of the π emission in KCl, KBr and KI has been studied in detail to clarify the spin-lattice relaxation mechanism among zero-field-split triplet sub-levels of the self-trapped excitons. It was concluded that the two-phonon process is very important in KCl and K...

Description
Summary:The temperature dependence of lifetimes of the π emission in KCl, KBr and KI has been studied in detail to clarify the spin-lattice relaxation mechanism among zero-field-split triplet sub-levels of the self-trapped excitons. It was concluded that the two-phonon process is very important in KCl and KBr instead of the one-phonon direct process which is dominant in KI.
