Summary:A non-a-priori method is presented in order to compute from the experiment the apparent rate constant of a diffusion-influenced kinetics reaction with excimer formation in viscous solvents. The case of 1,2-benzanthracene is displayed and an unusual behaviour of the apparent rate constant is obtained, in accordance with a previously described model.
