Description
Summary:Selective longitudinal and. transverse proton NMR relaxation measurements were performed on a 10 mole% solution in acetone at 34°C of the AB system in the molecule 2-iodo-5-nitrothiophene. The following contributions to the relaxation could be separated: (1) intermolecular dipolar interactions between the solvent and solute protons; (2) intramolecular dipolar interactions from which a molecular correlation time could be calculated; (3) scalar interactions from which the coupling constants between the 14N nucleus and protons A and B, as well as the spectral assignment of these protons, could be determined.
