Description
Summary:A method of spatial localization is described which is particularly suitable for the in vivo spectroscopic investigation of biological and medical samples. The technique overcomes most of the technical problems associated with localized NMR spectroscopy and allows the spectrum to be investigated from a cube which can be positioned by reference to an NMR image. The cube can be reduced or enlarged, and can be rapidly moved in space to investigate further volumes of interest within the sample. The first experimental results from a phantom and the human leg are presented.
