Polaron conduction in disordered 3d oxides

Charge transport in simple 3d oxide crystals is currently described in terms of hopping and narrow-band conduction by small polarons. The influence of disorder on this type of system is discussed. Data on impurity conduction in α-Fe 2O 3 are presented and the evidence for polaron formation in ferrit...

Description
Summary:Charge transport in simple 3d oxide crystals is currently described in terms of hopping and narrow-band conduction by small polarons. The influence of disorder on this type of system is discussed. Data on impurity conduction in α-Fe 2O 3 are presented and the evidence for polaron formation in ferrites and 3d glasses briefly reviewed. Some comments on switching are included.
