Summary: | An extension of previous work on the effect of quantization of electron orbits in a magnetic field on the lattice relaxation time to include scattering among different oscillator states has been made. It is found that the relaxation time is inversely proportional to the density of states in the presence of the magnetic field. The current for a longitudinal electric field is calculated and found to depend, in general, on the magnetic field, in contradistinction to the classical theory, and to present, in particular, an oscillatory behavior with the magnetic field under degenerate conditions. |
