Summary: | A quantum non-linear theory for transport that includes many body effects is applied to a two-dimensional electron gas in an AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructure. Two formulations that result from the theory are employed in investigations of the transient and steady state behavior of the electronic velocity and the hot electron temperature. Calculations using both approaches in the transient state are compared with available Monte Carlo results. Calculations for the steady state are compared with experimental data. |
