Summary: | The conditions for obtaining the melted borides of high temperature metals at various excess pressures (up to 10 mPA) of argon are discussed. An investigation of the kinetics and the oxidation mechanism of the melted borides by titanium and zirconium showed that the process was limited by the diffusion of these elements and that the extent of the reaction depended on the temperature.
