Investigation of the magnetic stability of cobalt-based as-quenched amorphous alloys

The magnetic stabilities of several amorphous alloys of the series (Co 74.5 − x Fe x )Mo 1.5B 11Si 13 ( x = 3.9–5.0) have been studied. The experimental data show that the decrease in the permeability with increasing aging time at about 100 °C is closely related to the absolute value of the saturati...

Description
Summary:The magnetic stabilities of several amorphous alloys of the series (Co 74.5 − x Fe x )Mo 1.5B 11Si 13 ( x = 3.9–5.0) have been studied. The experimental data show that the decrease in the permeability with increasing aging time at about 100 °C is closely related to the absolute value of the saturation magnetostriction ∣ λ s ∣. An alloy with larger ∣ λ s ∣ exhibits a higher magnetic stability. It has been found that there is a linear relationship between H c and ∣ λ s ∣ of as-quenched samples. By introducing the equation μ m = M s 2/( αK + βλ s σ), the experimental results have been explained well.
