Summary: | Reticulation is a process used by artists in producing attractive rippled surfaces on rolled sheet of Ag-Cu alloys. A metallographic study of the process is presented which shows that a subsurface layer of CuO formed by internal oxidation plays a key role in the process. Based on this study two processes more simple than the conventional process are presented for preparing reticulation sheet. |
