Summary: | The recent interest in fluoropyrimidines as agents in cancer therapy and the lack of published data concerning their chromatographic properties prompted a study of these and related compounds by thin-layer chromatography. Good separations have been achieved on plates coated with silica gel GF. By using a two-dimensional technique, a solvent system was employed consisting of ethyl acetate:acetone:water in the ratio 70:40:10, followed by chromatography with a solvent containing ethyl acetate:methanol:conc. ammonium hydroxide, 75:25:1. A number of other solvent systems and the

values obtained with their use have been tabulated. These data should be helpful for the study of the chemical or metabolic reaction products of these and related fluoro compounds. |
