Description
Summary:An infinite series method is developed for the numerical solution of the thermoelastic stress field in a simply connected isotropic body having constant power density. The method is applied to a polygonal cylindrical body and the surface thermoelastic stress is analysed using an IBM 7040 comptter. Conclusions are drawn regarding the magnitude of the stress factors obtained and the results are compared with those obtained by other methods.
