Description
Summary:It is necessary to protect the environment from contamination by radioactive waste repositories. Predictions of the long term behavior of the materials used in a repository are therefore necessary. Investigations on 28 years old concrete and 91 days old concrete are presented with respect to permeability and porosity. It was found that the continuing hydration does not strongly affect the properties of the concrete. With regard to permeability it is shown that the degree of the water saturation of the concrete is the main influence on the gas permeability.
