Summary:Optical transmission, refractive indices and nonlinear optical properties of single crystals of the amino acid, d-threonine, have been investigated. The second harmonic coefficients were found to be comparable to those of KDP. The material can be phase matched for both 1.064 and 0.5321 μm fundamental wavelengths, and should be useful for up conversion in the UV.
