Summary: | A recently proposed method for the design of electrode profiles in discharge lasers, using a preassigned electric field distribution in the midplane, is investigated. The method for obtaining the equipotential surfaces is substantially improved, and it is shown that a rigorous application of it may lead to unacceptable high electric fields on the electrodes. |
