The polycondensation kinetics of p-dichlorobenzene initiated by lithium in tetrahydrofuran solution

The rate of the organo-lithium compound formation during the reaction of lithium with p-dichlorobenzene (DCB) in tetrahydrofuran (THE) is a function of the surface area of lithium and of the initial concentration of DCB, and is independent of the temperature.
