Structure formation during the precipitation of poly- p-benzamide from isotropic and anisotropic solutions
The results of low-angle light scattering investigations show that anisotropic structures form during the precipitation of isotropic solutions of poly- p-benzamide (PBA) in aqueous solutions of DMAA. Summary: | The results of low-angle light scattering investigations show that anisotropic structures form during the precipitation of isotropic solutions of poly-
p-benzamide (PBA) in aqueous solutions of DMAA.
H
v
scattering patterns of the anisotropic solutions of PBA in DMAA differ according to the molecular weight of the polymer. As the molecular weight increases, the diffraction pattern changes from the liquid-spherulitic to the ellipsoidal type. The degree of orientation in the system is increased as a result of the precipitation of anisotropic solutions of PBA in water-amide baths. |
