Copolymerization of N,N′-bis-(hydroxydimethylsilyl)-tetramethylcyclodisilazane with dimethylcyclosiloxanes
A study was made of the possible synthesis of polydimethylsylzasiloxanes by copolymerization of N,N′- bis-(hydroxydimethylsilyl)tetramethylcyclodisilazane-cyclodisilazanediol (CDSD) with hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane and octamethylcyclotetrasilicone in the presence of tetramethyl ammonium siloxanediola...

Summary: | A study was made of the possible synthesis of polydimethylsylzasiloxanes by copolymerization of N,N′-
bis-(hydroxydimethylsilyl)tetramethylcyclodisilazane-cyclodisilazanediol (CDSD) with hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane and octamethylcyclotetrasilicone in the presence of tetramethyl ammonium siloxanediolate and a varying ratio of initial monomers. It was established that CDSD undergoes re-grouping during copolymerization with ring expansion and transfer of the active centre on the nitrogen atom, followed by the addition of dimethylcyclosiloxane to the active centre. It was shown that hydroxyl end groups of the macromolecule are added to the cyclodisilazane group during the reaction, which further increases molecular weight and in some cases ends with the formation of a polymer with a branched macromolecular structure. |
