Summary: | A study was made of bulk copolymerization of
p-isopropenylphenol allyl ether with styrene in the presence of tert.butyl peroxide. It was shown that according to conditions, copolymerization takes place at the isopropenyl group to form a copolymer containing a reactive allyl group. Heat treatment produces crosslinked polymers. Physical and mechanical properties of copolymers synthesized were determined before and after heat treatment. It was established that an increase in the number of allyl ether units of
p-isopropenylphenol in the copolymer increases elasticity, impact strength, light and heat resistance. |
