Summary:Using the classical approach to analyse dynamic properties of nematic liquid crystals, experimental methods were developed and a preliminary evaluation made of anisotropic coefficients of viscosity η a , η b , and η c for liquid crystalline solutions of poly- p-benzamide in DMAA. Orientation effects preceding the stage of domain formation in poly- p-benzamide liquid crystals were also dealt with.
