Summary:Soluble polyimides were synthesized by high temperature polycondensation in m-cresol from cyclo-aliphatic dianhydrides of 1,2,3,4- cis-cyclohexane tetracarboxylic, 1,2- cis-3,4- trans-cyclohexane tetracarboxylic, bicyclo-[2,2,2]-oct-7-ene 2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic acids, 4,4′-diaminodiphenyloxide and 4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane. A study was made of mechanical and thermal properties of the isotropic films obtained.
