Thermal degradation of polyimides based on 1,7- m- and 1,12- p-carboranylenediamines

Description
Summary:The thermal degradation of polyimides based on 1,7- m- and 1,12- p-carboranylened-iamines has been investigated in the temperature range 100–600°C. It has been established that the introduction of m-carborane fragments into the polyimide chain reduces the rate of homolytic and heterolytic decomposition of the imide link to a greater extent than that which occurs when p-carborane rings are introduced.
