The kinetics and mechanism of formation of polyphenylquinoxalines
Catalysed polyheterocyclization in chloroform, in the presence of various proton donors, has been studied by the kinetic method, taking the reaction between 1,4-bis-(phenylglyoxaly) benzene and 3,3′, 4,4′-tetraminodiphenyl oxide as an example. The mechanism of closure of the phenylquinoxaline ring,...

Summary: | Catalysed polyheterocyclization in chloroform, in the presence of various proton donors, has been studied by the kinetic method, taking the reaction between 1,4-bis-(phenylglyoxaly) benzene and 3,3′, 4,4′-tetraminodiphenyl oxide as an example. The mechanism of closure of the phenylquinoxaline ring, resulting in formation of a linear polymer, free from structural defects during the course of the reaction, is discussed. |
