Rapid method for the evaluation of the degree of branching of polymers

A fairly simple and rapid method is proposed for determining the average number of branches per molecule and average molecular weight of branched polymers. Using polyurethanes it was shown that results obtained by this method satisfactorily agree with results of gel-permeation chromatography.
