Investigation of oxidized polymers using a positron annihilation technique
Poly-4-methyl-1-pentene samples oxidized at various temperature in the interval 120–160° have been investigated using a positron technique. Activation energies of oxidation averaged over this temperature interval have been evaluated for amorphous and crystalline regions separately. The activation en...

Summary: | Poly-4-methyl-1-pentene samples oxidized at various temperature in the interval 120–160° have been investigated using a positron technique. Activation energies of oxidation averaged over this temperature interval have been evaluated for amorphous and crystalline regions separately. The activation energies of oxidation for the amorphous and crystalline regions are 99·0±4·6 and 183·1±12·4 kJ/mole respectively. A phase transition was detected at 140–150°. |
