Study of acidic-basic properties of aminoazo-compounds obtained from poly- p-aminophenylacetylene

Summary: | Six aminoazo-compounds were synthesized from poly-
p-aminophenylacetylene. Using absorption spectra in the visible range a study was made of acidic-basic properties of the aminoazo-compounds in solutions of alcohol, DMSO or DMF. It was found that the aminoazo-compounds in acidic solutions form cations of azo- or quinonehydrazone structure and in the presence of alkaline agents in aprotic polar solvents (DMSO and DMF) can behave as weak NH-acids (p
K ≈ 19), forming corresponding mesomeric anions. |
