Study of reactions of solid-phase thermal polycyclodehydration in stepwise synthesis of polynaphthoylene benzimidazoles

A comparative study was made of regularities of intramolecular thermal polycyclodehydration of poly-N-( o-aminophenyl)-naphthalimide and its low-molecular weight analogue—N-( o-aminophenyl)-naphthalimide. An analysis was carried out of causes hindering the achievement in polynaphtholylene benzimidaz...

Description
Summary:A comparative study was made of regularities of intramolecular thermal polycyclodehydration of poly-N-( o-aminophenyl)-naphthalimide and its low-molecular weight analogue—N-( o-aminophenyl)-naphthalimide. An analysis was carried out of causes hindering the achievement in polynaphtholylene benzimidazoles of degrees of ring formation close to quantitative. A study was made of the type of variation of thermal resistance values of polymers formed as a result of thermal conversions of a prepolymer, according to the ratio of N-( o-aminophenyl)-naphthalimide and naphthoylene benzimidazole fragments.
