Description
Summary:The solubility of certain surfactants, oxyalkylenedimethylsiloxane block-copolymers, in water and in oligoethers based on propylene, which are used to obtain foamed polyurethanes, has been investigated as a function of the composition and structure of the oxyalkylene and the siloxane parts of the surfactant. The values of the surfactants' hydrophilic-lyophilic balance have been determined experimentally and by calculation and it has been shown that the turbidity temperature of aqueous solutions of the surfactants investigated is directly proportional to the magnitude of its hydrophilic-lyophilic balance. It has been shown that the solubility of the surfactants investigated in oligoethers increases with an increase in temperature.
