Summary: | The authors analyse change in the rate of radical polymerization of vinyl monomers with the depth of conversion. From a general analysis of the rate of polymerization and change with time in the concentration of the reacting components they offer an explanation of the whole body of experimental data and show the possibility of a unitary description of both the “overt” and “covert” gel effect. On the basis of the scheme proposed and also analysis of the published data they give an interpretation of certain empirical patterns and propose generalized parameters describing the diversity of the experimental data in study of the rate of homogeneous radical polymerization at deep degrees of conversion. |
