Investigation of certain features of the coordination polymerization of α-oxides, exemplified by the formation of U (IV) alkoxyhalides

Nuclear magnetic resonance and conductometry have been used to investigate the interaction between uranium tetrachloride and α-oxides. Description
Summary:Nuclear magnetic resonance and conductometry have been used to investigate the interaction between uranium tetrachloride and α-oxides. It has been shown that the oxide ring opens under the influence of UCl 4. The formation of a coordination bond between an oxygen atom of the polyether chain and a catalytic centre has been established, which leads to a slow chain propagation reaction. A general scheme for the interaction between UCl 4 and PO is put forward.
