Description
Summary:The formation of a PE film on the surface of catalytic fillers prepared by coating Zr(BH 4) 4 and Cr(C 5H 5) 2 on tuff and kaolin has been investigated by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It is shown that the morphology of the filled polymer depends on the structure of the filler particles and on the PE concentration. For a PE concentration of ∼50% in the compositional material practically all of the catalytic filler particles are covered with a PE film of thickness ∼2000 Å. The film thickness the nonuniform and there are regions where it is ⩽300 Å.
