Description
Summary:Values of the refractive and absorption indices have been determined for oriented PETP films by means of multiangle measurements of internal reflection coefficients at 1410 cm −1. The anisotropy of the optical indices of a polymer can be quantitatively evaluated if internal reflection coefficients for two angles of incidence of polarized light are used for calculation of these indices. Effective values of refractive and absorptive indices at frequencies of 730, 1020, 1340, 1370 and 1410 cm −1 have been calculated and their use is recommended.
