Summary: | The macrokinetics of initiated radical polymerization in a cascade of ideal mixing continuous reactors is described. The degree of polymerization and the MMD range are analyzed as a function of the effective polymerization and initiation constants and of the reaction mixture feed rate. It is shown that within the technological region of change of the parameters the degree of polymerization is decreased along the cascade steps. A non-steady change in the degree of polymerization and in the MMD range with change in reagent consumption is observed. |
