Description
Summary:The X-ray method has been used to study the structure of the original perfluorinated copolymer and ion-exchange membrane in isotropic and uniaxially oriented states. Saponification of the copolymer is accompanied by formation of clusters of ion-exchange groups expressed in the form of a maximum in the small angle diffractograms. Uniaxial stretching of the membranes led to orientation of the cluster small angle reflexion in the direction perpendicular to that of the stretching. A model of the structure of the amorphous regions of perfluorinated sulpho cation-exchange membranes is proposed.
