Summary: | The introduction of molecularly dissolved hexachloro-
p-xylene into diene elastomers raises the rate of dissolution of sulphur and its diffusion coefficient as a result of change in the conformation of the macrochains following the formation of a complex between the homopolymer and additive. Light scatter and viscometry have shown that similar conformational conversions occur in a solution of diene elastomers containing the same additive. |
