A comparative study of properties of poly(imidophenylquinoxalines) and poly(amidophenylquinoxalines)

Mechanical and thermal properties have been compared for two pairs of isomeric poly(imidophenylquinoxalines) and poly(amidophenylquinoxalines), the polymers of each pair differing in the localization of phenyl substituents in the side groups. Description
Summary:Mechanical and thermal properties have been compared for two pairs of isomeric poly(imidophenylquinoxalines) and poly(amidophenylquinoxalines), the polymers of each pair differing in the localization of phenyl substituents in the side groups. The chemical structure affects the deformation and ultimate characteristics owing to the fact that specific interaction between the phenylquinoxaline groups are realized between adjacent macromolecules in one polymer but inside the repeat unit in the second polymer; as a result, the deformation parameters are worsened and the glass-transition temperature is lowered in the second instance.
