Summary: | The influence of the stretching ratio on the point and heat of melting in free and isometric states and also on the shrinkage stress of isotactic polypropylene has been investigated. With rise in the stretching ratio the melting peak splits into several peaks. The melting point of the high temperature peak in the isometric state is higher than in the free but in the case of the low temperature peak they are identical. The heat of melting does not depend on the conditions of melting and grows with increase in the stretching ratio as does the shrinkage stress. |
