Critical parameters of burning of polymers of 3,4-dichloro-1,3-butadiene-2-phosphonates
Most important limiting characteristics of burning were studied using polyphosphonoprene films of the poly-3,4-dichloro-1,3-butadiene-2-phosphonate series in relation to structure, concentration of oxidizing agent, direction of flame distribution and flow of oxidizing agent. It was shown that the ox...

Summary: | Most important limiting characteristics of burning were studied using polyphosphonoprene films of the poly-3,4-dichloro-1,3-butadiene-2-phosphonate series in relation to structure, concentration of oxidizing agent, direction of flame distribution and flow of oxidizing agent. It was shown that the oxygen index, rate of flame propagation with maximum attenuation and the critical width of self-extinction in pure oxygen decrease with an increase of the number of carbon atoms in the alkyl radical and, in general, increase in polymers with aromatic or fluoroalkyl substituents. The critical mass rate of burning of the polyphosphonoprenes studied exceeds by more than order of magnitude the rate of burning of thermoplastic materials free from phosphorus and halide atoms. |
