Hydrolysis of N-( o-carboxyphenyl) phthalimide and N-phthalanthranilic acid in alkaline media

Using model compounds the authors have investigated the hydrolytic stability of poly-( o-carboxy)amic and poly( o-carboxyimide) intermediate products for the synthesis of poly-isoindoloquinazoline diones. Mechanisms of the hydrolysis of N-( o-carboxyphenyl)phthalimide and N-phthalanthranilic acid ar...

Description
Summary:Using model compounds the authors have investigated the hydrolytic stability of poly-( o-carboxy)amic and poly( o-carboxyimide) intermediate products for the synthesis of poly-isoindoloquinazoline diones. Mechanisms of the hydrolysis of N-( o-carboxyphenyl)phthalimide and N-phthalanthranilic acid are proposed and the limiting stages of breakdown of poly-( o-carboxyimide) in different media determined.
