Summary:The cationic copolymerization of 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-1,3-disila-2-oxacyclohexan-5-carboxylic acid with its octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane esters was studied. Polydimethylcarbosiloxanes with functional groups in the organic radical were obtaine, and the effect of these groups on thermal stability and the decomposition mechanism of the polydimethysiloxane chain was studied.
