Description
Summary:The processes of permeability, diffusion and sorption of O 2, N 2 and CO 2 in PTFE-based membranes have been studied. In the system studied increase in the diffusion coefficients of the gases with rise in pressure is due both to the non-linearity of the sorption isotherms and fall in the energy barriers for the diffusional jumps of the molecules of these gases in the polymer matrix with rise in their concentration. The difference in the character of the dependences of the gas permeability coefficients on pressure for the different gases is connected with the competing action of fall in the solubility coefficients of these gases and rise in their diffusion coefficients.
