Summary:The structural transformations during phase transitions of poly- bis-trifluoroethoxyphosphazene fibres during heating-cooling cycles are studied by X-ray diffraction. The evolution of the changes in structural parameters is followed as a function of the stretching and heat treatment conditions. It is shown that the defective character of the system is largely determined by the fibre annealing temperature. It is assumed that the polymer macromolecules are spontaneously straightened in the mesomorphic state.
