Synthesis and study of grafted polymers formed on interaction of polyacrylonitrile “live” chains with polyvinylpyridines
The polymerization of acrylonitrile initiated by tributylmagnesium iodide and its complexes in toluene in the presence of poly-2-vinylpyridine, poly-2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine, and a copolymer of styrene with 2-vinylpyridine results in the formation of grafted polymers. The number of branching points...

Summary: | The polymerization of acrylonitrile initiated by tributylmagnesium iodide and its complexes in toluene in the presence of poly-2-vinylpyridine, poly-2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine, and a copolymer of styrene with 2-vinylpyridine results in the formation of grafted polymers. The number of branching points per single backbone is evaluated by pyrolysis gas chromatography. The molecular parameters of some synthesized grafted polymers are determined. |
