Summary:The adsorption of PMMA and PVA from solvents of varied thermodynamic quality on the surface of aerosil has been studied. The values of the segmental adsorption energy x s of the polymers on aersoil have been obtained. The authors have established a link between the level of adsorption and x and x s and of the parameters x s and the selectivity of adsorption of the polymers form solutions of their blends which, in turn, determines the shape and form of the phase diagrams of binary filled polymer blends cast from a common solvent.
