Description
Summary:Chain transfer and chain termination reactions with the participation of primary and growing macroradicals in the copolymerization of tetrafluoroethylenes with vinyl fluoride and ethylene under the action of β-oxyethyl- t-butyl peroxide are studied with the aid of radioctive indicators. It is shown that branching in the formed copolymers depends on their composition and structure, and especially on the content and mutual arrangement of the methylene and difluoromethylene groups. On the basis of data on the products from the decomposition of β-oxyethyl- t-butyl peroxide under copolymerization conditions and the ration of the end groups of different structure in the copolymers, a scheme is proposed for the most probable reactions with participation of radicals formed on peroxide decay.
