Description
Summary:The conformational properties of molecules of an alicyclic PI in DMSO have been investigated by viscometry, sedimentation velocity and light scattering. The mean square dimensions of the macromolecule, the second virial coefficient, the swelling coefficient and the size of the Kuhn segment have been determined. It is shown that the absolute value of the Kuhn segment A ≈ 90 × 10 −8cm obtained with the worm-like chain model correltes well with the magnitude A f = 75 × 10 −8 cm. The degree of retardation of the rotation is σ = 1.1. The Kuhn segment contains five repeating units.
