Acoustic spectra of some polypropylene glycols. Rotational-isomer relaxation

The acoustic spectra of a series of liquid polypropylene glycols with M = 250, 425 and 1025 have been studied. The speed of propagation and absorption of sound over the frequency range 1–2500 MHz and also the density and shear viscosity coefficient in the interval 283–343 K have been measured. The a...

Description
Summary:The acoustic spectra of a series of liquid polypropylene glycols with M = 250, 425 and 1025 have been studied. The speed of propagation and absorption of sound over the frequency range 1–2500 MHz and also the density and shear viscosity coefficient in the interval 283–343 K have been measured. The acoustic spectra of polypropylene glycols in the frequency and temperature ranges studied consist of two simple dispersion regions. The parameters characterizing these regions have been calculated. The low frequency region of dispersion is governed by the processes of conformational transitions in the polypropylene glycol molecules. The thermodynamic and kinetic parameters in the low frequency region of dispersion have been calculated.
