Description
Summary:The magnetic field dependence of the ground-state energy of a parabolically confined few-electron quantum dot is studied. Numerical diagonalization calculations are performed taking into account electron spin and mixing of the Fock-Darwin (Landau) levels. Calculated magnetic field dependence of the energy to add one electron to a dot, i.e. the addition energy, is found to be in a qualitative agreement with a recent experiment [R.C. Ashoori et al., Phys. Rev. Lett.71, 613 (1993)].
