Summary: | The known forms of the Auger parameters α and ξ characterize the energy variation of extra-atomic relaxation and the interaction energy of effective holes,F, during reconstruction of the atomic orbital and the chemical environment. New forms of the Auger parameters η and η' are suggested. They are characterized by variation of F and are calculated directly from the Auger spectra. We have measured η and η' for a series of 3d transition-metals and their compounds. It is found out that the η values depend on the degree of filling of the 3d-shell for the pure metal, and the η' values are connected with the degree of oxidation of the given element and, probably, with the local structure of the atomic environment in the compound. |
