Summary:Using a reaction-field approximation that includes non-trivial spin fluctuation effects, we have studied the magnetic properties of the semi-infinite simple cubic spin- 1 2 Ising ferromagnet with a free surface and with three different exchange parameters ( J S couples surface spins, J 1 is the exchange interaction between spins in the surface and in the first (next) layer, and J B is the interaction in the bulk); J S and J 1 are assumed to be randomly distributed. We find a number of characteristic behaviours for the surface magnetic properties such as the possibility of the surface re-entrant phenomenon.
